FOR DOCTORS
Extending gait and fall risk care
WALK is a non-pharmacological adjunct that patients can explore when walking, freezing, or fall-risk begin to limit function. It is complementary to standard medical care and rehabilitation, and Lifespark offers structured screening, guided onboarding, and training support.

NON - PHARMACOLOGICAL
Wearable neuromodulation + guided digital care, delivered at home.
CLINICAL CONTEXT
To replace uncertainty
with a clear path forward
01
Standard Clinical Baseline
Optimization of levodopa and standard pharmacological protocols effectively manages symptoms like bradykinesia and tremors early in PD. WALK comes in when the optimization becomes insufficient to manage gait symptoms
02
Refractory Axial Symptoms
Freezing of gait and postural instability often become less responsive to medication over time, reflecting dysfunction across multiple sensorimotor networks beyond dopamine deficiency alone.
Persistent gait symptoms signal a need for targeted, non-pharmacological solutions alongside standard medical management.
Parkinson's Disease
Shuffling gait
Emergence of Freezing of Gait
First fall or recurrent near-falls
Emerging Gait and Balance issues
Refractory gait issues despite medication
Sustained reduced confidence in walking
CLINICAL USE
Indications for use
THE SCIENCE
Scientific rationale
WALK uses targeted sensory stimulation designed to modulate sensorimotor function and support gait performance
MECHANISM
Neuromodulation
DELIVERY
Wearable, Non-invasive stimulation

MECHANISM OF ACTION
Closed-loop
neuromodulation
WALK provides cadence-linked vibration, using targeted proprioceptive stimulation to activate muscle spindle sensory pathways, enhancing movement-related sensory feedback during walking. This increased proprioceptive input is hypothesised to influence sensorimotor control and improve walking stability.
By reinforcing phase-relevant sensory feedback, the device may reduce susceptibility to freezing episodes during challenging situations such as turning, doorway negotiation, cluttered environments, and dual-task walking.
When combined with structured motor-learning training, WALK improves gait performance and reduces freezing of gait through a closed-loop, proprioceptive neuromodulatory approach.
